What we Do

In the fragmented global commodities market, GAT facilitates the supply chain interaction between upstream producers (miners / smelters / producers / traders) to midstream and/or downstream end users on a variety of trading routes.

Commodities traded include:

Agriproducts (grain, wheat, corn, soya, peas, sugar, rice), Raw Materials (coal, bauxite, iron ore, manganese ore), Energy (petcoke, steam coal, coking coal), Construction (cement, clinker, logs, steel products), Additives (map, dap, mop, bhf)

Transportation of such commodities is performed by the use of chartered-in ocean going vessels. GAT has also positioned itself as an independent third-party transportation provider as a backstop alternative to chartered tonnage.

Transportation Services include:

Contracts of Affreightments, Voyage Trips, Time Chartered Trips, Long / Short Period Chartering

Operational Model

Ιs structured upon the market intelligence of matching demand and supply of dry bulk commodities and vessel optimization requirements in order to provide the best cost effective transportation service to its clients, as follows:

Cargo Booking: While constantly monitoring market conditions associated with dry bulk commodity demand and supply contracts, GAT simultaneously utilizes its proprietary modeling system to identify the best available vessel most suitable for the specific voyage, in an effort to fulfill the transportation needs of the two sides transacted.

Quality of Services: GAT’s experienced commodity and chartering personnel use internal and external tools for managing safety and quality associated with providing outstanding service for GAT’s clients.

Financial Strength: Lines for Letters of Credit and freight finance to accommodate trade and shipping funding.

Insurance: Full cover of freight and shipping insurance including P&I, DTH, FDD and Bunker Quality.

Risk Managment: As a global commodity trader and transportation agent, GAT is exposed to the changes in freight market conditions and the related credit risks of the parties to specific transactions. GAT has in place a robust framework that measures, monitors and manages all such potential risks.
